Mini Goldendoodle Female

About Mini Goldendoodles

In the late 1990s, breeders began crossing golden retrievers with standard poodles. The reason for this blend was to try to develop guide dogs which would be suitable for visually impaired individuals with allergies. Since 2006, Goldendoodles have been used as guide dogs, therapy dogs and rescue dogs, as they have the poodle's intelligence and the golden retriever's ease of training in their genes.

Goldendoodles are usually highly social and get along well with everyone. Goldendoodles are considered to be light shedding dogs and may be a good match for people with allergies.

There are three main coat types. There is the straight coat, which is flat and is more of a golden retriever coat. The wavy coat which is a mixture of a poodle's curls and a golden retriever's straighter coat. The last coat type is curly, which tends to look more like the poodle coat.

A Goldendoodle size is generally somewhere between that of its parents. Although now they are being bred smaller, hence the Mini or Micro Mini Goldendoodle.

There are the different Goldendoodle types:

The F1: That is 50% Golden Retriever and 50% Poodle. This is the first generation.

F1-B: That is 25% Golden Retriever and 75% Poodle

F2: that is a F1 Goldendoodle and F1 Goldendoodle cross – this combination you get the same percentage of Golden Poodle mix as you would an F1 Goldendoodle.

F3: That is a F2 Goldendoodle and F2 Goldendoodle cross
