This review is definitely long overdue, but I wanted to share my great experience getting my first ever dog, my miniature poodle Bruno from here two years ago. From the moment I first walked in, I could tell how professional everyone was and how much love and care they give to the puppies. It really showed me how the dogs were treated and how knowledgeable and helpful the staff were throughout the process.
Two years later, Bruno has never (knock on wood) had any health issues and continues to be a happy, healthy pup who brings so much joy to my life every day. I truly feel lucky to have found my first ever furry best friend through them.

Just picked up our adorable new puppy from here, and the whole experience was fantastic! The place is clean, welcoming, and clearly cares about the animals. The staff member Sal he was incredibly nice and patient took the time to answer all questions, showed us everything we needed to know about the pup, and made sure we felt confident taking her home. Communication was excellent quick responses and clear info every step of the way. Our little girl is happy, healthy, and already settling in perfectly. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a puppy you won’t be disappointed!

We had a great experience with Silver Nickel Puppies in Englewood, NJ. They were professional, caring, and clearly put a lot of love and effort into their puppies. Our Aussiedoodle is healthy, beautiful, and has an amazing temperament.

So glad to have found Silver Nickel Puppies! About a month ago I called and spoke to Ale about a cocker spaniel puppy I found on their website. He was very friendly and informative and I was able to come in that day to adopt her. You could tell that they really care about their dogs and make sure they come from safe breeders by including all their paperwork. They even gave her a bath and included a bag of the food she was eating plus some wet food. Our new puppy has been a great addition to the family and we couldn’t be happier!

We bought our mini dachshund Chai from here almost a year ago and couldn't recommend more! Chai is a happy, healthy, and well- tempered pup. He has a gorgeous coat and gets compliments all the time on his color!! The puppies at Silver Nickel are definitely well bred to breed standard. We had a great experience visiting the store and interacting with Sal, and the puppies go very quickly so if you are interested, recommend putting a deposit as soon as possible!
A few notes for transparency - Chai did come home with giardia but that is common in puppies who are around other dogs, and with a few rounds of medicine he was okay. Additionally, I didn't *love* the vet they recommended for the first visit required after bringing them home. She started him too early on one of his vaccines and we had to do the whole series over, and it didn't end up really being free anyways - so I would recommend going to your own vet of choice after bringing your dog home!
When Chai is ready for a sibling - we will definitely be back to Silver Nickel!!

I could not be happier or more grateful for my experience at Silver Nickel Puppies! I felt a sense of belonging and knew I was in the right place as soon as I walked through their door. From start to finish, I had what I would consider to be a magical experience.
I was greeted by Sal and instantly detected how much he cares about his puppies finding the right owner and vice versa. Sal is not a salesman, nor is this a business centered on profit; they are instead looking to make this world a better place by pairing the right puppy with the right prospective owner.
It has been 3 days at home with my treasured companion, Tilly. She has adjusted wonderfully and is the best companion I could have ever asked for. It is clear that the ease of her transition has a lot to do with how well she was cared for by the staff at Silver Nickel Puppies. After only 3 days, I cannot imagine being in my apartment without Tilly.
I operate a private psychiatry practice that is mostly telehealth, and even my patients have noticed a positive difference in me since bringing Tilly home! She tends to sit alongside me during my appointments because she is so very curious. She serves as an excellent reminder that curiosity is what keeps us alive. What can I say about Silvernickel Puppies. If I can give them 10 stars I would. They are very protective of their puppies and give them five star care. The staff is watchful and caring with the pups. Sal was amazing! He is patient, helpful and was a pleasure to work with. He knows about the pups and answered all of my questions even though I probably asked too many. He provided me with so much information about my new puppy and how to care for her and assured me that if I had any questions or concerns to just reach out. He is professional and attentive to each person that walks in and I would not change anything about my experience. The store is clean and the puppies are well cared for. So we ended up at Troys by accident after a spontaneous encounter with a happy customer while shopping at Target one day. After getting discouraged by the adoption circuit and stores that were not forthcoming with details, we called Silver Nickel. I believe we called on a Wednesday, confirmed they had the breed we had been eyeing and put down the deposit on Thursday. When we arrived, we weren’t 100% sure which breed we wanted and my 8-year old asked to play with 2 different dogs. Sal was strict and protective of handling multiple animals and at first, I was kind of confused by it. I felt their handling & access policy was unnecessarily limited. Only after we made the deposit and he placed the “sold” sticker on our pup’s window did I appreciate this approach. I understood that limiting access and handling ensures your puppy’s health and safety while in their care. The approach also made us feel like the pup would then develop a healthy attachment to us and not multiple handlers. Additionally, this was our first time getting a puppy from a store and the 5 days that he was crated at Silver Nickel made transitioning home to a crate very smooth. After one week at home, I’m please to report that our puppy is pretty much sleeping through the night and rocking house-training. We feel like his health and social adjustment is excellent. After hearing lots of different stories about puppy stores, I can honestly say it has been a positive experience for us. We are very happy with our Maltipoo.

My husband came across Silver Nickel Puppies on my birthday. We were in the area and he randomly looked up a pet shop and that's how we happened upon Silver Nickel Puppies and met Sal who was very knowledgeable and welcoming. You can tell he wants the best for these puppies and not just sell them to anyone. He took the time to answer all my questions and concerns regarding where the puppy comes from. My 16 year old morkie passed almost two years ago and I wasn't sure if i was ready for another dog, until I saw a little sleepy white maltese. I just wanted to look at him but ended up holding him and became obsessed with him. We felt very welcomed in the store and all the puppies were treated very well and it was really clean compared to other puppy shops we've been to. I told myself if he was there a week later, then I will really consider. We even called a couple times. We talked about him all week and really had to think about our decision. Our first visit was August 4 and we went back on August 9 and purchased a little white maltese whom we named Martin. Everything happens for a reason. Had we waited 15 more mins, we would have lost him to another couple. We didn't feel pressured at all by Sal, he was always honest with us but he did let us know that there was another couple who was interested in him and might come back, and they did! They are also strict with puppies here for the puppies own well being. Since I had held the maltese before, I wasn't allowed to hold him again unless I was really considering buying him and, the rest is history. I held him in my arms and we brought him home. It's almost been a month with our Marty and he has kept our lives exciting! He's definitely still the sleepy puppy who eye rolled us at the store, but very energetic and full of personality!

Purchasing my puppy here was one of the best Decisions! My mother purchased a puppy from them a few months back… She absolutely raved about them! My mom told me about how kind the peooke are there, how cleanly it is, and how healthy the dogs Look…etc. And of course, they seem to Have truly some of the most beautiful dogs for sale. My dog, unfortunately, recently passed away after 14 long years of having her… I knew my family and I were missing having doggy cuddles at home. But- I knew I was not going to settle for just any dog. I knew exactly the type of dog I wanted, and I had a vision in my head of what he or she would look like. Long story short, the exact dog that I was describing popped up as for sale on their Instagram page . My dream dog had arrived! Unfortunately, I was on vacation and I knew that this dog was going to get scooped up fast. I took a leap of faith and purchased the dog over the phone! I was originally communicating with Sal who was extremely helpful and kind. They held onto my baby for me until I got back from vacation. I also was able to interact with Elli Via email and text in which it was so obvious how good she was with people. I could tell she genuinely loves what she does, and really goes out of her way to make her customer happy. While I was on vacation, she sent me multiple pictures and videos of my puppy! I finally arrived to pick up my dog and everything went seamlessly. I’m already so in love with her. I am so thankful that I found her, and I’m so thankful that I found her at this specific location! I can’t thank Sal at Silver Nickel Puppies enough for helping me find my sweet baby girl. I’ve had Coco, a now 4 month old cockapoo, for 2 months and she’s been the absolute best.

I had been seriously considering getting a dog for a few years, but was worried about which breed is best for me as I’m someone who works long hours. Sal really helped get to know me and what I was looking for, while keeping the puppies well-being in mind. Based on what we talked about, there were a few breeds he suggested that would be best for me.
I asked if I could see the chocolate cockapoo who had just walked over toward me in her crate, so Sal brought her out so we could interact. That was it, I fell in love and we instantly connected!
Sal is truly so knowledgeable about dogs. I found him to be really patient, understanding, and informative. You can tell he wants to find forever homes for these sweet puppies and wants the person who’s taking them home to feel confident in their decision. He even followed up with me a few weeks later to check in on Coco and me. I had a few questions for him, now that I’ve had her for some time, and he took time out to give me some tips on caring for her as she grows.

It's taken me awhile to review SNP but wanted to share the wonderful service we received. We found SNP on social media and fell in love with the selection, easy website and glowing reviews. My mom lost her pup 2 years ago and we wanted to surprise her with a puppy this past Christmas (2024) and we took her in-store to see if she could find a match. A very cute, active and cuddly Mini Aussie Shepherd caught our eye and she has been a delight. She was very healthy after being checked out by the vet recommended and our normal vet. She stayed with me here in NJ for a few weeks while my mom set up her California home. We couldn't he happier and will keep SNP in mind in the future for other friends and family.

We can't say enough good things about this pet store! The cleanliness of the facility is absolutely impressive—spotless and welcoming, which puts both pets and owners at ease.
The staff is not just friendly but also incredibly patient and supportive. It took us about a year to find our perfect fur baby, but they were with us every step of the way, offering expert advice and genuine care. Their dedication truly stands out!
Now, our fur baby Winston (mini dachshund) is almost 6 months old, around 14-15lbs, and he's growing into a healthy, handsome, smart boy. We're so grateful for all the help we received in finding him.

Ok, so I waited a couple of weeks before writing this review, and I could not be more thrilled in getting a puppy from here. I decided to get a friend for our 7 month old English Bulldog, and Silver Nickel Puppies had the PERFECT Mini Bulldog. I’ve had several Bulldogs throughout my life and upon arriving I knew she was going to be the perfect companion. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Elli actually goes and visits all the breeders herself to verify they are up to her standards, and even furnished me with the USDA inspection reports. Sal was very helpful as well and just so cheerful that you have to smile around him. Lastly, my puppy’s first check up with my personal vet could not have gone any better as she passed everything with flying colors and very healthy for a two month old. All I could say is that if I was grading this place they would have to get an A+, as I have been to many breeders and puppy stores. Bravo Silver Nickels Puppies 🐶

We came home with our Marshmellow (or Malshi) that we named Mickey on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. After doing research online, I came across Silver Nickel Puppies and I am so happy that we did. I can’t say enough about how kind the staff is and how cute and clean the store is. Renna was so great to work with! This is my first dog and he is absolutely the sweetest and just so adorable. Went to our own vet and they said he is healthy too! I would recommend Silver Nickel to anyone looking for a small, specific type of puppy!! ♥️🐶

I was very impressed by Silver Nickel at Troy’s the minute I walked in the door. Extremely clean. Each enclosure- pristine clean. Not a smell to be smelled anywhere. The puppies are all clearly happy- healthy- not too young- and they are all adorable. The owner is a woman I can relate to - strict in her rules for sanitizing your hands and handling the pups. This is all in the best interest of the dogs so of course I gladly followed them. I went there for a specific dog I saw on the website. They allowed me to spend as much time as I wanted with her while they answered all my questions. I never felt rushed. I did purchase my little lady and have been in contact with the owner with some questions I had - so they are there for you even after you walk out the door. My beautiful little girl, Kara Mia - has quickly settled into her new home. She is a Maltese Shih Tsu mix and I’m already completely in love

I cannot say enough good things! All of the employees at Silver Nickel Puppies are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and love love love all the puppies. Elli, the owner, went above and beyond to accommodate my busy schedule to make sure I was able to adopt the Maltipoo puppy I fell in love with. He came home happy and healthy with appropriate puppy vaccinations. I also know that my puppy was very well socialized there because he is so comfortable with both people and dogs of all shapes and sizes. (Not only is he comfortable, he LOVES playing everyone upon meeting them.) Highly recommend Silver Nickel Puppies for a quality adoption experience and puppy!
